Based on Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s literary masterpiece, the narrative follows Surendranath, a young Zamindar who leaves his home after a disagreement and becomes a tutor in Madras. He forms an unspoken, deeply profound bond with Madhavi, a young widow who runs the household. Driven apart by misunderstandings, he returns to his estate and eventually becomes the Zamindar. When his manager deceitfully auctions Madhavi’s property, a gravely ill Surendranath rides back to right the wrong, ultimately breathing his last in her lap, leaving their poignant bond etched in eternity.
