సంపన్నుడైన ఒక వృద్ధుడు తన ఆస్తిని కాజేయాలని కాచుకు కూర్చున్న బంధువుల స్వార్థాన్ని గ్రహించి, వారికి బుద్ధి చెప్పేందుకు వివాహం చేసుకోవాలని నిశ్చయించుకుంటాడు. ఆ ప్రయత్నంలో ఒక చిన్నారిని దత్తత తీసుకుని, ఆమె యుక్తవయస్సుకు వచ్చాక వివాహం చేసుకోవాలని కుయుక్తి పన్నుతాడు. మరోవైపు, ఇంటివద్ద వివాహ సంబంధాల ఒత్తిడి తట్టుకోలేక పారిపోయి వచ్చిన ఒక యువకుడు అనుకోకుండా ఆ యువతిని కలుసుకుని గాఢమైన ప్రేమలో పడతాడు. వృద్ధుడికి ఈ విషయం తెలియడంతో వారి ప్రేమను అడ్డుకునే ప్రయత్నం చేస్తాడు. కానీ చివరకు యువతీయువకుల స్వచ్ఛమైన ప్రేమ ముందు తన స్వార్థాన్ని పక్కనపెట్టి, వారికి ఆశీస్సులు అందించి, తన ఆస్తిని బహుకరిస్తాడు. తనను ‘బాబాయ్’ అని పిలిచే ఆ యువతి ఇకపై ‘బావ’ అని పిలవాలని కోరుకోవడంతో ఈ సున్నితమైన హాస్యభరిత దృశ్యకావ్యం పరిపూర్ణమవుతుంది.
A wealthy older man, realizing the greed of his relatives who are waiting for his wealth, decides to marry to secure an heir. In this process, he adopts a young girl with the bizarre intention of marrying her once she comes of age. Meanwhile, a young man escaping his own arranged marriage pressures inadvertently meets the girl, and they fall deeply in love. Upon discovering this, the older man tries to thwart their romance but ultimately realizes his folly. Transformed by their pure love, he unites them, gives them his wealth, and humorously asks the girl to call him ‘Bava’ instead of ‘Babai’, completing this gentle comedy.
